Badger rises from the earth bringing forth new life. Nature smiles then.

Beliefs

I find it fascinating how our little twists and turns through life add up to our own unique outlook. The exact outcome of beliefs is rarely replicated as none of us have travelled the same path. That is why we should endeavour to meet each other with compassion, tolerance and an open mind.

What follows are some stimulating beliefs in my world-view. These have been made clear to me through my own personal experiences and in the witness of others.

Nature

Nature provides for all life and shows us the most elegant ways of living harmoniously. We are freely given clean air and pure water, nourishing foods and healing herbs, cleansing weather and the abundant energy within. The perfect systems of nature constantly strive for balance. In turn, as part of this living organism, humankind should strive for the same harmony in our environment and turn to nature for examples to guide us as we evolve. Mimicking nature is often the simplest and easiest option. Nature always knows best - sometimes we just need distance to see the bigger picture.

How lavish is Nature, building, pulling down, creating, destroying, chasing every material particle from form to form, ever changing, ever beautiful. John Muir

Our Duty to Animals

I see animal life as equal to our own. I believe that our position as the dominant form of life on planet earth obligates us to act as guardians to all living things. Animals have every right to life as we do and should be treated with compassion at all times. We will find that they are great companions and teachers if we look and listen.

Know that the same spark of life that is within you, is within all of our animal friends, the desire to live is the same within all of us. Rai Aren

Mind Body

The Mind Body refers to the great effect that the mind can have on the body - for good and for bad. I was awakened to this power when looking for a way through RSI and discovered Healing Back Pain by Dr. John Sarno. I recommend that book as a perfect bridge between conventional western medicine and esoteric healing.

Fear in the mind is poisonous to the body. If you’re afraid of something, giving it fear only makes it stronger. The fear is more dangerous to you than the thing you’re afraid of.

Fixing the problem isn’t how people get better. People get better by focusing on their strengths, by focusing on envisioning what a better version of themselves would be like. Henry Marshall

Emotional Roots

Following on from the Mind Body is the concept that every pain or disease in the body has an emotional root - some trauma or anxiety which has been repressed or trapped inside, stagnating unheeded until the body can take no more and begins to break down.

In this ideology, your body is your guide. Any pain or sensation out of the ordinary signals an imbalance. The cause is usually the most recent upset in your life or the niggling thing at the front of your mind. Listen and work to resolve those issues for relief and good health.

In her book, You Can Heal Your Life, Louise Hay gives an account of this relationship at work.

Treat the patient’s personality not their disease. Dr Edward Bach

Intuition

As the body relates to the physical, your intuition connects you to an unseen force of knowing. It can mysteriously guide your passage through life via ephemeral thoughts that flash through your perception. I have found that catching those sparks and following their sign leads to a dynamic life of evolution. The more you practise it, the easier and more magical it becomes.

Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. Steve Jobs

The Magic of Water

I was shown the magic of water by Sunbird as we blessed the wells of Glastonbury. He always said that water is love in action — two hydrogen atoms in love with oxygen.

We know that water is vital for life. Part of this magic is the way information is held within its structure and passed on to a receiver. Water can be purified with a blessing and draw emotion from our bodies in the form of tears. The works of Masaru Emoto and Dr Edward Bach offer great insights into this aspect of water.

In the process of falling to the earth, seeping into the ground, and then emerging, water obtains information from various minerals and becomes wise. Masaru Emoto

Gratitude

I love my invigorating morning routine of gratitude. I go outside around sunrise and really feel the gratitude welling up in me as I witness nature unfurl - the changing light, the breath of the wind, the first warming rays, clouds, birdsong - I give thanks for them all.

Whatever our situation, there is always something to be grateful for. Nourish these seeds with gratitude for a bountiful harvest.

I started introducing a softer voice of gratitude for the beautiful opportunities in my life and I kept listening. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The mantra for presence and abundance, the one that makes my heart blossom. Aradhana Kaur

Positivity

Approaching life with positivity and acceptance makes everything so much brighter. Life reveals itself in full colour when you turn your back on the cynicism and negativity that cause you to stumble and find excuses.

Allow ease. Allow opportunities. Begin by doing less than you think you should. Give attention to your strengths in order to starve your problems.

Miracles

There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle. Albert Einstein

The world of fantasy and miracles that many long for is alive and well here. It’s always been here - we have just forgotten how and where to look. Simply have the courage and curiosity to explore and discover it all.

Your imagination can create your future if you allow it.

If we don’t believe in fantasy we are lost. Michael Tyack
